NCH6300HV, Powering Up Your Nixie Tubes & Magic Eye w/ Ease

A 100V-235V DC-DC boost power converter for vintage vacuum tubes. It takes LiIon battery, 5V USB, or 12V as inputs. Easy to use.

What is NCH6300HV?

  • Nixie tubes look unique, pretty, and are fun to play with. Powering them up is not easy though, as they require 170V DC voltage to ignite.
  • We designed the NCH6100HV in 2012, and it has been very popular in the nixie community.
  • 8 years later today, it's time to update it to the brand new NCH6300HV.
  • The NCH6300HV is 19% smaller in footprint, yet almost double the power compared to its precedent. They are pin-to-pin compatible so just drop in and it just works with a minor tweak.
  • The design has been firstly tested in our Omnixie Plus clocks to replace the old model, which has been in mass production since May 2019.

  • 12V DC Input can power up 12 the large IN-18 nixie tubes with ease. It can light up ~23 of them (100mA max) if active cooling is properly implemented.

* Note: As nixie tubes were manufactured more than 30 years ago, some of the tubes may not appear as new. We collect them over the years from different vendors/surplus/markets, and they may be used or new old stock. Therefore we can only guarantee they will function as expected.

  • 01/05/2021: 4 orders shipped today, including 3 US and 1 Switzerland.
  • 01/04/2021: All shipping information were sent to backers. Another 4 backers completed the BackerKit survey today, and their orders will be shipped tomorrow.
  • 12/29/2020: 57 packages shipped via USPS to all US Backers, and two international backers with IN-18 tubes in their orders. Mr. Zeyuan Yan is preparing shipment for all 56 international backers and will ship them out in the next few days. Tracking information will be provided soon.
  • 12/28/2020: DHL Express delivered the parcel to Aiden in California.
  • 12/20/2020: Funds on the way to our bank after exactly 14 days. BackerKit survey was sent out to all backer to collect shipping information.
  • 12/06/2020: NCH6300HV was successfully funded! 126 backers pledged $7,869 to help bring this project to life.
